Redshift survey — where it appears

A catalogue of positions and redshifts for many thousands of galaxies, from which a three-dimensional map follows once a cosmology is chosen. The map it produces is in redshift space rather than real space, so peculiar velocities distort it — an effect that is itself used to measure the growth of structure.
