Concept

Drag coefficient — where it appears

The factor relating a body's drag to the dynamic pressure it meets, conventionally 2.2 for a satellite. In free molecular flow it is a property of the gas–surface interaction rather than of the spacecraft, and every density inferred from drag carries it inversely.
