Concept

Orbital lifetime — where it appears

How long a satellite remains in orbit before atmospheric drag brings it down. It is inversely proportional to the air density, which varies by more than an order of magnitude over the solar cycle, so a lifetime prediction is largely a prediction about the Sun.
