Climate model — where it appears

A calculation of a planet's surface temperature from its incident flux, its atmosphere and its albedo. One-dimensional versions treat the atmosphere as a column with prescribed clouds; three-dimensional ones compute the circulation, and the two disagree about where a habitable zone's inner edge is.
