Voigt profile — where it appears

The convolution of a Gaussian thermal core with Lorentzian collisional wings, whose one parameter is the ratio of the two widths. The Gaussian core dominates near the centre and the Lorentzian wings far from it, so a line's core measures a temperature and its wings measure a pressure.
